Municipal Library

The Municipal Library of Gallipoli is located on the first floor of the former Oratorio dei Nobili (Oratory of the Nobles) a magnificent building distinguished by an elegant facade with a wide double-ramped staircase. Founded in 1825 thanks to the generous donation of Carmine Fontò, the Library stands as a cultural treasury that has endured through the ages, encompassing a legacy ranging from incunabula to rare sixteenth-century editions.
